The 2018 Jakarta Asian Games concluded successfully on September 2, 2018, at 20:00 (Beijing Time) in Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. With the handover ceremony and the spectacular “Hangzhou 8 Minutes” performance, the Games transitioned into the era of Hangzhou 2022.
Digital Esports Asia, a company focused on uncovering and maximizing the commercial value of sports, injected fresh energy into the Jakarta Asian Games.
During the Games, Digital Esports Asia facilitated partnerships between sports brands such as 361° and Kelme with National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from countries including Iraq, Maldives, Mongolia, Syria, Oman, Yemen, Sri Lanka, and Turkmenistan. These collaborations exemplify Digital Esports Asia's strategy of “Connect the World With Sports.”
For years, Digital Esports Asia has maintained close relationships with multiple NOCs and international sports organizations. By offering services such as event management, business operations, sponsorship collaborations, and association partnerships, the company has consistently supported the growth of these organizations.
As a partner of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Digital Esports Asia has contributed to event promotion for the Danang Asian Beach Games and the Sapporo Asian Winter Games. It also played a pivotal role in introducing esports to the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) by serving as the official technical partner for esports, overseeing its preparation and execution. This marked the debut of esports at a top-tier Asian event.
At the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, esports made its debut as an official demonstration event. As a strategic partner of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) and the official technical partner for esports at the Games, Digital Esports Asia provided comprehensive support, ranging from event execution to content promotion, to aid AESF in organizing and managing the competition. The event’s success significantly bolstered AESF’s efforts to promote and develop esports in Asia.
Following the successful conclusion of the Jakarta Asian Games, Digital Esports Asia will continue leveraging its global perspective and resource integration capabilities, playing an increasingly critical role in enhancing the influence and commercial value of international sports organizations.
